Montenegro: Opening of negotiations big step towards EU membership

Brusssels (29th June) - The accession negotiations with Montenegro started in Brussels today. After the European Council has endorsed the decision of the General Affairs Council from last Tuesday, the Intergovernmental conference with Montenegro took place in Brussels under the Danish Presidency on Friday and the process was officially launched.

The requests for clarification from potential applicants under the 2nd Call for Proposals for Cross-border program Serbia-Montenegro are processed and answers are approved by the Contracting Authority.

Please note that, according to the Guidelines for Applicants, the deadline for submission of requests for clarifications expired on October 24th 2011 and no further clarifications can be provided by the Contracting Authority.
